Acceptable Use Policy

Lasnobberia.net provides services to individiuals by invitation only Individuals that use these services are expected to abide by these simple rules.

Persons wishing to raise a complaint about a Lasnobberia.net user should also read through this briefly.

Usenet

Lasnobberia.net provides no usenet service or feed, however, we expect anybody posting purporting to be from Lasnobberia.net to follow these rules. We define purporting to be from Lasnobberia.net as having "Lasnobberia.net" anywhere in the From, Sender or Organisation headers:

No crossposting to more than 14 groups.
No posting of any illegal material, including material that may infringe copyright.
No threats of any physical activity, personal harm or property damage.
No posting of any binaries, whatsoever. Usenet was intended for text.
No excessive multi-posting (defined as a post that has reached a BI of 20).
No posting of real-life info, whether fake or real. This includes Addresses, Date of Birth, Vehicle Registrations numbers, etc. - even if this information is available elsewhere. We do not, however, have a policy against citing other online material, whether or not it contains information that may be considered to be 'Real Life'.

We reserve the right to cancel any post containing "Lasnobberia.net" in the From, Sender or Organisation header that was not posted by one of our users. We reserve the right to cancel any of our users posts that breach this policy.

In the interests of foiling spamers, we ask that our users, if posting from Lasnobberia.net, terminate their address with ".invalid" but do not require this.

Lasnobberia.net believes in freedom of speech and therefore will not take sides in any Usenet debate, irrespective of how heated a debate may come. Frivolous complaints may be posted to Usenet after the second false complaint.

Lasnobberia.net takes an objective view when handling complaints, in some person's opinion a post may violate this policy while in others it does not. Our decision is final. If we agree with the plaintiff, we will ask the user to refrain from this activity in the first instance. In any instance of the SAME activity from the SAME user after 24 hours of this request to decist, we reserve the right to suspend the users account. We do not take serious action upon the first offence, unless the first offence is very serious.

E-Mail

Any user e-mailing purporting to be from Lasnobberia.net, sending through our relay, or replying to an e-mail delivered to their Lasnobberia.net mailbox is required to follow these rules. We define purporting to be from Lasnobberia.net as having "Lasnobberia.net" anywhere in the From, Sender or Organisation headers:

No unsolicited bulk e-mail - we define this as sending unsolicited e-mail to more than 10 people whether individualy or separately
No unsolicited commercial e-mail - we define this as sending any advertisments for chargable services or goods, or repeated advertisements of 'freebies'
No harassing other people - we define this as contacting another person by e-mail if they have requested you refrain from doing so. In the event of a complaint, the other plaintiff must cite the message they sent asking the user to refrain, and the delivery and read receipt to prove that this e-mail has been acknowledged. If this fails to satisfy, we will contact the user and ask them to decist and accept this as satisfactory after 24 hours if they continue. Any plaintiff nullifies their request to cease and decist by continuing to e-mail the user with anything other than a clear request to decist.
Lasnobberia.net spam/virus filter and journal all e-mail passing through the 'Venezia' system. Users are asked to keep their online mailboxes below 20MB, users are not asked to limit their storage on the 'Venezia' system.
No e-mailing of any pornographic material
No using your mailbox to collect responses to UBE/UCE or illegal transmissions

Lasnobberia.net takes an objective view when handling complaints, if you have received an e-mail from one of our users, we will ask them in the first instance to refrain from contacting you. In any instance of the SAME activity from the SAME user after 24 hours of this request to decist, we reserve the right to suspend the users account.

Web Space

Storage limits are agreed on an individual basis. No storage limit applies to the 'Venezia' system.

No displaying any pornographic material. We define this as the display of any genetalia, this does not include cartoon. We do not allow the display of female bust, unless cartoon or fake. We decide what violates this policy and what does not.
No displaying of any illegal or copyrighted material.
No displaying of any material considered to be libelous. We define this as being material you do not know (and can prove) to be true. You should cite sources whether Usenet posts, e-mail, or other websites to back up your statements. If a complaint is received of libelous content, we will first investigate. You may be asked to cite sources that your statements are factual. If these sources are no longer available we will ask you to remove the content.
Any mirrored content must be with the permission of the author.

Lasnobberia.net takes an objective view when handling complaints. Complaints will be investigated before any action taken. Our first action will be to remove the content if we agree that it violates this policy. If this content is resurrected on Lasnobberia.net we may suspend an account..

Complaints

All complaints are received through lassecurity@lasnobberia.net, complaints are investigated prior to any action being taken. Our decision is final.

Updates

We reserve the right to update these policies. Where a restriction is removed the new policy takes effect immediately. Where a new restriction is imposed, we give our users 30 days notice before the policy becomes in force.
